About: Pilates:
General statement:
The Pilates method consists of over 500 exercises to be done on a mat or on Pilates apparatus. Pilates works to strengthen the core muscles of the body, to lengthen and mobilize the spine, to build muscle tone, improve flexibility and balance, and to unite body and mind, providing an efficient, balanced, total body workout. Centering, Concentration, Control, Awareness, Breathing and Flow are the guiding principals that define the Pilates method.

Power In Motion offers personalized Pilates sessions designed to meet the needs of your particular body. It is our goal to address any injuries, weaknesses or imbalances your body may be experiencing, and to challenge your strengths. Movement that is economical, graceful, and balanced is attainable and healthy, and we want to help you to achieve that.
Instructors:
Pilates is taught at Power in Motion by certified Pilates instructors Tamara Tweedy (founder) and Gudbjorg Arnalds, both of whom are pictured on this site. |
